If you haven’t done so already, please go here and listen to the new version of “A Loss of Innocence” written by Peter Hodges and read by yours truly.

I am going to have a lot of fun doing this audio book, oh yes.

Michael Collins was a marine. He should have been a doctor.

Michael Collins was like any other high school senior. He wanted to get even with the Rak’Lan for destroying San Francisco and Shanghai. He wanted to know the truth about the disastrous first contact with an alien race around the orbit of Jupiter…and he was willing to put his life on the line in the service of humanity much to the dismay of the people who loved him the most.

His parents.

The Last “O’Leary Letters” is up!

Posted by Kate

In what is my final installment of “The O’Leary Letters”, I hope that if you’ve taken the time to listen to the 10 podcasts, that you’ve enjoyed what you’ve heard.

Pete is going to be incorporating the writing into “Loss of Innocence”, which is quite exciting to me. Just wish us luck in getting it published. You might hear from Shannon again in the coming months, but for now, I’m going to be giving her a bit of rest to build anticipation.

I do feel the piece could stand on its own. It comes in at 5,500 words, so would technically qualify as a short story.

Anyway, if you’re finding yourself bored, you can download the episodes on Itunes (look for Peter Hodges podcast) or you can go here.

Here is the last one of series (for now).

Shannon, I really enjoyed working with you.

After a brief talk with Pete on the future of “The O’Leary Letters”, I have decided to pull all the podcasts that were hosted here and solely link them from peter-hodges.com. It makes more sense to do it that way as we’ve done the other podcasts in the past, so we can get a better count of how many downloads we’re getting of each episode.

So for those of you who have been hanging out over here and haven’t ventured over to Pete’s fantastic site, please head over there when you have a chance. Not only is he extremely intelligent, but he is really well versed at arguing both sides of a debate once he’s hooked into you with a thought-provoking post.

Failed Podcast Introductions

Posted by Kate

If you listened to “The O’Leary Letters”, you’ll notice I say “webcast” instead of “podcast” in the introduction. In my efforts to fix that last night, I had a few characters who wanted to take a shot at doing the intro.

We go from a proper English gentleman named Arthur, to surfer dude, Shilo, to Barry White’s younger sister, Fiona, and finally, Daisy May from the Tennessee Mountains. After that, I finally come out and get the intro done and it’s the one we’ll be sticking to from now on.

Enjoy. Cause I was laughing my ass off at the stereotypes living in my head.

Stroking the Ego…

Posted by Kate

While checking site traffic on Pete’s site, because I’m anal like that; I was happily surprised that our numbers keep going up! There was another extra surprise this morning as well. When I was checking over referring links, I noticed that we had been featured on podcast.com. Right under the main article, the black square in ‘ a selection of podcasts’ is our podcast!

I have to say, with all the work I’ve been putting into these, this makes it worth it. We’ve seen some great traffic with this site, and I hope to continue the trend. To whomever visits either Pete’s or my site and listens every week, here’s a big shout-out to all of you. If you continue to think they are good, tell everyone about them!
