Your answers to the &quot;changed my way of thinking&quot; question made me think... there are certain books, genre classics, that many SF readers have read and loved and shape a point of common reference.  &lt;i&gt;The Forever War&lt;/i&gt; is one of them.  

My hub is a SF fan, but he has the strangest taste, prefers media spin-off books, and almost never finishes books I give him, including Forever War.  Sigh.  I put up with him anyway - even though he complains about nothing to read when he&#039;s surrounded by literally thousands of books of mine he&#039;s never touched.</description>
