From The Selfish “I Want” Files…
Posted by Kate on Monday Nov 24, 2008 Under MusingsI very rarely buy things for me that I want. I needed new slippers and I am never really conventional, so the monster slippers were more of aligning to my personality choice. (They are a riot and very comfortable FYI). So without further ado, here are some of the things I have my eye on.
I love this show. I always have. When I saw they were doing a complete series in such a cool presentation, I immediately started drooling.
I am stuck with Verizon for two years, so alas, no IPhone. But this is basically everything BUT the phone. You can still surf the web anywhere there is wifi. I’m also looking for something to manage my email and act like a mp3, so this will work for me.
This will help me with my podcast recording as it’s got a nice I/O for USB mics. :)

So yeah, *starts to sing, “If I Had A Million Dollars”*, I wouldn’t necessarily buy myself a monkey, because that’s cruel, but I would love to splurge a little on myself. :)

Them’s some mighty fine covets. And I like the falling snowflakes. You should pop some little flashing ads on them and make beaucoup bucks.

I like it. The theme, I mean. Very holiday appropriate. And that’s a nice mixer. How much would that set you back?

Instead of the iPhone/iTouch drool, look at Verizon and the new Blackberry Storm that hit shelves just this week. It’s cheaper than the Iphone, supports all the Blackberry features that make business people prefer it, and has all the features that the iPhone touts. The biggest setback is the browser is still not as good at the iPhone’s version of the Safari browser, however, Blackberry is still refining it. On the plus side, you can replace the battery without mailing it to Apple and paying $79! It also had a microSD card slot for memory expansion. I am personally going to wait until March when Blackberry will open their app store for the Storm. As a not-to-big a fan of Apple (or Microsoft for that matter) I tend to stray away from Apple products. I just can’t justify their overpricing. I bought a Sansa this year to replace my Zen. Both equally as good if not better than the iPod they were designed to compete against at less than half the price.

Vince,
Looks like it’s a 100.00 bucks, so I’ll be saving for that or seeing if my company will chip in some dough. ;)

Daniel,
I tried going the won’t give into Apple crap, but honestly, I like their stuff. I try not to be a sheep and I went with a IRiver for a while, but I as much as I say I don’t want to use Itunes, I have for so long that I am stuck and really don’t want to spend the time converting.
Plus, I just traded in a phone with Verizon, and am not eligible for another until next year.
Plus, if I get a blackberry, I will be tethered to WORK email more than I am. :(
Good points on your part, but I think I might be a sheep.
