You’ll notice I’ve been neglecting this blog the last few weeks. I’ve been travelling for work, and have been so incredibly busy that I haven’t had time to breathe.
I hope to start posting again regularly as I find myself at home again.
The odd thing I noticed about being away from the computer and facilitating the production aspect of a huge meeting, is that I haven’t had any time to read the news online. I used to be a news junkie. I would go to all the major news sites multiple times a day to figure out what was going wrong in the world and how I could be prepare for the worst.
Interestingly enough, since being detached from the web while I was travelling, I’ve noticed that I am a lot less paranoid about things. Coincidence? I don’t think so, actually. I’ve even stopped biting my nails, which I tend to do while reading all the fear based news that constantly bombards us on a minute by minute basis.
I was typing something up the other day and noticed the keys felt weird underneath my fingers. I looked down and was like, “Holy crap. I have nail growth!”
Look, I’m not saying living life in an ignorant little bubble is good for you, but it is nice to take a break from the constant barrage of biased bullshit that comes from every single outlet, every so often. Even as I sit here typing this, I don’t even have the compulsion to open up the browser to those sites any longer.
“Hi, my name is Kate and I’m a recovering news junkie.”
Who incidentally, is loving the whole, ‘my fingertips don’t look like they’ve been put in sausage grinders” look.
