If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been the last day or so, it’s been building my new work desk, filing cabinet and hutch for my home office. Remind me never to buy furniture that hasn’t already been assembled. It took me from 9 a.m – 10 p.m yesterday to get everything built. I only screwed up twice while following the instructions and I’m pretty confident it was a printed error.

For example, the first step of the file cabinet instructions were to place the rollers for the drawers on the inside of the cabinet. Step 12, had me trying to build a drawer on those same rollers which was virtually impossible.

As it says in my Twitter, I hate the name “Bush” even more than I did then! Once I get everything put back in place, I’ll take a picture for you, but this is what I ultimately bought on company dime.

You’re wasting time building a desk? Folks are just screaming for that audio book you offered. (OK, they’re just politely saying whoopie, but you get the idea.)

Putting together furniture is a pain in the ass, definately, but after looking at the picture, I’m not sure how you’d have gotton it home without a big ol’ truck, much less get it inside the house, if it had already bee put together. But it sure is purty.

Ah, yes, one of the downsides of working at home, which is really having to WORK at home, and not even on what you’re really supposed to be working on!

I agree with Vince though; it is mighty purty. It’ll be even purtier when you’re sitting in front of it in your PJs with a complete case of bedhead — at 3 PM!

For some reason, any time you make any alterations to your comment submission that hasn’t been accepted before, it will hold you in moderation, Vince. That’s why. :) I had to take you out of the spam queue.
