I think it’s quite obvious… the front of the boat fell off. But no worries, because it was towed out of the environment. :D

  2. Vince Said,

OK, so a tanker that has the front fall off is still a safe tanker, just not as safe as a tanker that has a front that doesn’t fall off.

This would have made a wonderful Monty Python sketch.

Are you sure this isn’t a Monty Python sketch without the Monty Python players?

  3. kim Said,

I must learn to not drink coffee while surfing to your site.
Now i have to go clean up my monitor.
That was hilarious….and i agree with Vince…classic Python style.

  4. Kate Said,
There is some speculation but I can’t seem to confirm it, that this was a skit in Australia. I was tipped off about that possibility because the tons of crude oil seems to change throughout the skit.

But wow is it believable, and that ladies and gentlemen is a sorry state of politics.

  5. ed Said,

    It’s for sure comedy.

There’s no environment. only sea, birds and fish… and 20,000 gallons of crude, and the fire… and the front of the ship that fell off…

    no cardboard. or paper deritives.

    hilarious.

  6. Nathan Said,

    And rubber. That’s right out!

  7. badfun Said,

This is a satirical sketch created by the comedians John Clarke and Bryan Dawe titled, ‘The Front Fell Off’ based on a real incident. Specifically an oil spill that occurred off the coast of Western Australia on July 21st, 1991 when the Greek tanker Kirki lost its bow, spilling 17,280 tons of light crude and subsequently caught on fire.
