“We do not forgive, we do not forget…
Expect us.”
Hackers have declared war on the Church of Scientology. The video is really creepy, but then again, its target is too. While I’ll keep my thoughts on the religion to myself, I can’t help but watch this video and just get a really ominous feeling. It’s like something out of “The Matrix” or a…science fiction book.

Yeah, I saw the video, and it is creepy. I know you are keeping quiet on you opinions regarding Scientology, and I respect that. I am personally torn. My disdain for the religion is bucking against my firm belief in freedom of religion…
Still, ominous video. The choice of the computer voice was powerful.

Yeah, well I’d like to burst out into a big lecture about my thoughts, but I’ve heard horror stories. Yet, I just can’t seem to get over the weird vibe when reading or seeing anything about it.
To over simplify though, freedom of religion is supposed to be a good thing and like you Shawn, I’m terribly conflicted on what every part of my being feels it should tolerate when it comes to Scientology as opposed to doing what is supposed to be the right and fair.

I’m not conflicted at all. Scientology is not a relegion. it is a hoax and a con. I can only hope this video presages real action, but I expect it is really just a joke.
If you really think Scientology may be a relegion, start with “A Piece of Blue Sky.”

I’m fully in support of the First Amendment. Worship however and whoever you choose - it’s no skin off my nose.
But I’m also in full support of the second portion of that same Amendment - the part where we have the freedom of speech. It seems that Scientology is pretty adept at curtailing this right for certain individuals…like anyone who dares to challenge them.
So I’ll be all exercisey and give my opinion: Whack Jobs. Fully fledged Freeze-Dried-Whack-a-Loons. They need a good dose of skepticism in their lives. And a knock on their virtual heads.
Because damn…seriously?
Disclaimer: http://anaedream.com and Amnesia With a Side of Sarcasm are in no way responsible for this opinion. Scientology Whacko’s may address their concerns to Hot Chicks Dig Smart Mean…if you’re allowed in, that is. Since only Hot Chicks and Smart Men are permitted through the portals. And Scientology is not Smart. Or Hot.

A failed Sci Fi writer… starts a cult… to turn us into spock.
Seriously, they pissed off Trent Reznor. He sounds angry.
*just a guess*

Haha, Janiece! No need for the disclaimer. I wouldn’t have put it up if I didn’t want intelligent discourse. Besides, the best thing about my site, is that I get to approve the first comment of all peeps that visit. It’d be tough for anyone to start ripping me apart here, atleast without my express permission! Oh to be a master of your own little place on tha intarweebs!
Ed: Funny, as always.

I love this! Truth can be cooler than fiction sometimes. I’ve gotta wonder - is it a group of hackers, or just a single teed-off person? I don’t think of the hacker community as especially collaborative.
I, too, am a little conflicted about Scientology. I agree with Janiece about the whack-job level — but I also believe they have the same freedom of religion and speech that I enjoy. And if Scientology, the Church of All Worlds, or the first Church of Bob wanna preach weird stuff, they get to.

I’m a 1st and 2nd Ammendment guy, too. But when the cloak of religion is assumed in order to enslave and murder people and hide hundreds of millions from the IRS, and said relegion starts burglarizing government offices and actively persecuting others who are exercising their own 1st and 2nd Ammendment freedoms, it is time to remove the financial and corporate protections we give to religions.
The KKK is purportedly a religion, too. Should we treat Scientology any differently? I’m beginning to think the Roman Catholic Church should be looked at closer, too, as well as more of the televangelists.
Freedom of religion, yes. Priviledges of religion, not so much.

In response to Jeri, and the rest of you really. I am one of many who frequent the sites where “Anonymous” was started. I wouldn’t call Anon a group of hackers, because they’re really much, much more than that. If you want to label Anon, think of them as an underground internet society. Anon is made up of people from nearly every work background, race, and religion with a few exceptions. All that funny stuff you see on the eBaums World, YTMND, or any of the hundreds of site that steal content to redistribute without credit, has a very high cjance of being produced by Anon. Anon, created Caturday and your beloved lolcats as well.
How will they do against the COS? Who knows. They have made news in the past for various things. They’ve caught child pornographers and turned them in, they’ve made news for fake bomb scares, and various other things. They certainly have the power to do harm, but more importantly, they have the understanding that harm is not always the best answer. One thing is certain however.
Anonymous is legion. Anonymous does not forgive. Anonymous does not forget.

like anonymous said, they are not trying to tell you what to believe.
what Scientology is being built upon is greed and its own self agendas.
i believe anonymous has shown people the truth, the light and what is needed to take action.
